DAY 2 Poás Volcano National Park & Escazú - L, D

Our professional historical guide will take you through Escazú, a province full of history and wealth. It is now the home of several embassies including the U.S. and Britain. You will visit a mask workshop and a traditional sugarcane mill. For lunch, enjoy a delicious meal while listening to traditional Marimba music. At night, enjoy the many bars and restaurants available in the area.
DAY 3 Nicoya Peninsula, Hojancha - B, D
Community project at Monte Alto Nature Reserve
Guided biological tour
The next day, a bus will take you to the Nicoya Peninsula. Learn about the community project at Monte Alto with a guided biological tour. Explore the tropical rainforest with its overflow of exotic plant and animal life that will no doubt envelop you in all its magical wonder. After dinner, enjoy a multimedia speech given by the director or the Reserve.
DAY 4 & 5 Mirador & Nicoya Peninsula & Sámara and Carrillo beaches - B, D and B, D

Visit the 2nd oldest colonial church
On the fourth and fifth day through noon, the group will continue volunteering at the Reserve. Again, choose between repairing old paths and buildings with the local Park Rangers or teaching English in schools near the Reserve. On the afternoon of Day 5, there are many activities to pick from. You can hike to the Mirador to see the Reserve and coffee plantations. You can visit Nicoya, where there is the 2nd oldest colonial church. Afterwards, visit the Sámara or Carrillo beaches, where you can choose*** to go kayaking, snorkeling, paragliding, or swimming.
DAY 6 & 7 Nicoya, Arenal Volcano National Park & La Fortuna Waterall - B, L and B, D

Take a two hour bus journey to the Arenal Volcano National Park, a 12,000 hectare area nestled between the mountain ranges of Guanacaste and Tilaran. There the group will experience Costa Rica's most popular natural wonder, a highlight of any true first Costa Rican vacation. Volcanic smoke and ash are a daily visual above the conical landmark with frequent eruptions of molten rock. We will venture down either of the two main hiking trails that wind through the park, with closer views of the surrounding landscape and unobstructed sights of flowing lava. Closer to sunset the group will have a chance to wash away all of their stress and tension. This magical destination is called the Baldi Hot Springs, a lively resort boasting over 30 pools of water spread across a range of temperatures. There is also a spa which includes, among other amenities, three swim-up bars and water slides.
On the second day prepare yourself for another exhilarating experience at Arenal National Park punctuated by a once in a lifetime Zip-Lining experience that lets you soar high above the rainforest over more than 1,000 feet of strung cable! Catch your breath on over 10 platforms that provide breath-taking panoramas of the Costa Rican landscape. After lunch, the group will leave Arenal Volcano National Park and travel back to San José for hotel check in.
DAY 8 San José - B

Spend the last day exploring the urban secrets of this beautiful country while you reflect on all your new memories. Ask the tour guide to show you the famous landmarks of this tropical city. Enjoy a final glass of sangria at a local café, just don't get carried away in the bliss and miss your flight. You will be dropped off at Santamaría International Airport and depart Costa Rica. See you back next year!
