Let's get to the point: Your trip with us will be entirely carbon neutral. Whoopty Doo. What does that mean for me? It means that all the emissions from your trip (plane, bus, too many tacos, etc.) are neutralized through carbon offset purchases. As a result, karmic forces will ensure you have a memorable, guilt-free trip. What are these carbon offsets? Carbon offsets fund greenhouse gas reduction projects and drive down the cost of clean energy. They operate by taking carbon dioxide (CO2) savings from one location, like a solar farm, to compensate for CO2 produced in another location, such as your air travel. The net benefit of a collective number of offsets, then, is far greater than any individual contribution. How do I know this isn't a scam? We have done our own internal research and purchased the offsets through Carbon Fund, a reputable non-profit whose projects, namely reforestation and wind farms, we strongly support. Furthermore, 95% of every dollar goes towards supporting these projects. We encourage you, however, to check them out for yourselves as they are focused on carbon reduction at the individual and corporate level. They also appeal to those who are truly interested in making a difference, not those who want to be green because its sexy. |
